How to Play Battleship

Battleship is a classic two-player strategy game of naval combat. Each player hides a fleet of five ships on a 10ร—10 grid: an Aircraft Carrier (5 cells), a Battleship (4 cells), a Cruiser (3 cells), a Submarine (3 cells), and a Destroyer (2 cells). Players take turns calling out coordinates โ€” told whether they hit, missed, or sunk an opponent's ship. The first player to sink all enemy ships wins.

This version pits you against an AI that uses a hunt-and-target strategy. It fires randomly until it scores a hit, then systematically targets adjacent cells to finish off that ship. Spread your fleet across the grid to make it harder for the AI to locate all your ships. You can place ships manually or use Auto-Place for a random layout.

How to Play

  1. Click a ship from the queue to select it, then click cells on Your Fleet grid to place it. Use the orientation button to rotate.
  2. Or click ๐ŸŽฒ Auto-Place to place all ships randomly.
  3. Once all 5 ships are placed, click cells on Enemy Waters to fire.
  4. Sink all 5 enemy ships before the AI sinks yours!
