Why we built this, and how it works.
PocketTools is a growing collection of free, lightweight browser tools built for developers, students, designers, and anyone who needs to get something done quickly without installing software or creating an account.
Our philosophy
Every tool on PocketTools runs entirely in your browser. When you use the JSON Formatter, your data never leaves your machine. When you generate a password, no server sees it. When you use the Base64 encoder, nothing is uploaded anywhere.
This isn't just a privacy stance — it's what makes the tools fast. There are no round-trips to a server, no loading spinners waiting for an API response. You open the page, you use the tool.
What we build
We focus on tools that are genuinely useful and that do their job well. Each tool is designed to be the best free version of itself on the web — not the most feature-complete, but the most thoughtfully made. That means clear interfaces, keyboard accessibility, mobile support, dark mode, and honest SEO content that actually explains what the tool does and how it works.
